CALA wins the RED DOT AWARD 2026

A recognition of design that enhances the experience of care environments. CALA has been awarded the Red Dot Award 2026, one of the most prestigious international distinctions in the field of design. This award highlights a collection conceived to respond to the real needs of care environments, combining functionality, ergonomics and warmth.

Developed by Alegre Design, CALA was created with the aim of providing a more human, comfortable and welcoming experience in care spaces.

Its design is based on an essential idea: furniture should not only meet functional needs, but also contribute to the wellbeing of older people and support those who assist them every day.

Every detail of the collection serves a specific purpose. The reclining backrest supports rest; the elevating leg rest and footrest provide greater comfort; the castors make movement easier; and the integrated handle improves the chair’s manoeuvrability in everyday use. These solutions are designed to promote independence, safety and comfort without compromising on a warm and approachable aesthetic.
