Furniture for the elderly in an eco-friendly nursing home

Caring for the elderly requires a blend of attention, kindness, and professional expertise, as well as open and welcoming spaces, with furniture designed to meet their needs and ensure maximum comfort and safety every day. At Seniorcare, we have been equipping care homes and nursing facilities across Spain for decades, including the nursing home in Camarzana de Tera (Zamora), a project executed by CSO Arquitectura.

This facility is distinguished by its commitment to sustainability, featuring a green roof, photovoltaic solar panels, and enhanced thermal insulation. Thanks to these eco-friendly measures, the project was awarded the prestigious Passivhaus certification —a high standard of energy efficiency with over 30 years of history, known for being one of the most rigorous building standards in the world.

Seniorcare provided the furniture for this eco-friendly nursing home, designed to offer comfort, functionality, and beauty through its commitment to design.

Our contribution to this project is reflected in the installation of senior-friendly furniture that enhances the experience for both residents and caregivers. The developers selected one of our latest chair collections, Unna, designed by the Yonoh design studio. The Unna chairs with low backrests were chosen for the dining room, complemented by our Dante tables (90 x 90 cm). In the lounge, several high-back chairs from the same collection were installed, while the low-back chairs in the bedrooms help create a relaxing space for interaction between residents and their visitors.

Thus, while the primary focus remains on medical care, safety, and comfort, the rooms offer a warm and intimate environment, aligning with current trends that aim to recreate the warmth and atmosphere of a home within a care or nursing facility.

Unna chairs and Dante tables are part of the rooms and common areas of the residence.

The main objective of CSO Arquitectura is to ensure that residents truly feel at home. In this spirit, the nursing home in Camarzana de Tera has successfully integrated quality furniture with architectural design to foster a connection with the surrounding environment, notably through patios that open onto the garden and blend seamlessly with nature.
